Inclusive solution for senior worker
Screwdriver for Hultafors
Approach
The project aimed to educate us in the field of traditional industrial design. During this project we had emphasis on HCD/UCD which we conducted interviews, observations, field and desktop research and co-creations workshops. We’ve been working in a human centered method to enhance well being of seiner electricians or professional who are struggling with health problems specifically neurological problems.

Focus: Clay modelling, Inclusive Design , User Experience, User Centered Design, Design Ethnography, Empathy tools
During this project, I aimed to make an inclusive product for a senior worker and user who works under momentarily handicap situations. In the developmental stage of this project, I observed and experienced mobility limitation, loss of power and control in the wrist and arm. Lastly, I conducted various interviews and user tests to observe physically challenging postures and work conditions for the electricians.
Casual look into my progress.
Aside from ergonomic form I focus on semiotics and implantation of brand identity by form study with sketching and various brand research tools.
IN CONCLUSION
In my opinion, creating empathy through experience is key to understanding the user groups. If designers recognize norms and experience them first hand, it will create a better connection between the users and the product. The Inclusive Screwdriver was developed by the application of various design methods. The goal of this project was to enhance the user’s capacity to solve daily challenges and accomplish necessary tasks in their line of work. Through experiencing norms, designers can better understand the relationship between the user groups and the products in special contexts and conditions. This was important for me to keep in mind while working on this project.
